An arcade rally game that's a spin-off of the Gran Turismo-inspired Super Woden GP series. Super Woden: Rally Edge emphasizes singleplayer career mode, but unlike the main installments in the series, it features a 3D chase camera positioned behind the car.

After the release of the game Super Woden GP 2 in 2023, its creator - independent developer ViJuDa from Spain - despite the success, decided not to take the easy route and cash in on it, but instead tried something a little different. His next project became Super Woden: Rally Edge, which focuses on a single motorsport discipline featured in Super Woden GP.

Gameplay

Just like the previous games in the series, Super Woden: Rally Edge features a simplified, arcade-style driving model and retains the distinctive visual style. It differentiates itself with a changed gameplay perspective – this time we drive the vehicles using a so-called chase camera (view from behind the car), although it is still positioned quite high (similar to the game art of rally).

The foundation of the fun is still the career mode, which resembles Gran Turismo in its general concept (especially the older installments of the series). We begin the adventure by purchasing a not-so-fast, old rally car, and by earning money from subsequent races, we upgrade our machine and/or buy increasingly faster models.

Super Woden: Rally Edge features dozens of unlicensed cars modeled after iconic designs, including "classics" from the 1960s and 1970s, through the models from the infamous Group B, to even more powerful monsters intended for the so-called hill climbs.

The competitions take place in various corners of the globe, which are renowned for hosting rally events, on courses with varying surfaces such as asphalt, gravel, or snow.

In addition to singleplayer races, Super Woden: Rally Edge offers a local split-screen multiplayer mode for up to 4 players. Time trials with online rankings are also available (as befits a rally game), as well as a photo mode.
